[Book Launch & Artist Talks] MAP at JOJO Library & Bookshop

Join us for the launch of a photobook published by the Museum of Art & Photography in Bangalore accompanying the exhibition Outside In: Meera Mukherjee and Jaidev Baghel. Designed by Valentina Abenavoli and featuring photographs of Jaisingh Nageswaran and Philippe Calia, the publication is a reflection on the similarities between the lives and practices of the two artists, Meera and Jaidev. 

Outside In: Meera Mukherjee and Jaidev Baghel reflects on the similarities between the lives and practices of the two artists, hailing from otherwise different worlds. The book is divided into two parts which, while acting as a commentary on the varied treatments that artworks receive within a museum and in workshops, link the aspirations of the artists. Intermingling their accounts with their inspirations further softens the distinctions. The publication contains photographs by Philippe Calia and Jaisingh Nageswaran. Concluding with an essay by Katherine Hacker, the book offers a visual exploration that connects the two artists, through the journeys of their artworks.

Jaisingh & Philippe will present the book & their work, followed by a Q&A session. 

The book will be available to buy and to consult at the shop, feel free to come early to spend some time with the library collection before the talk!
