About the Event

Sundays with JOJO

Every Sunday we invite you to come and engage with photobooks at our library and bookshop in Mumbai through engagements like talks, coffee menus, book signings, lectures, portfolio reviews, casual meets and other fun events!

This Sunday, we invite Rohit Saha to take us on his journey as an artist, photographer, documentarian and bookmaker. He will talk about his photobook 1528 and take us through his process, research, ethics and experiences in making the work and the book. Are you working on a documentary story of your own? Do you want to know what it's like to study at NID? or perhaps how to start making a photobook? Are you wondering what applying for photobook grants can do for you? These are all questions you can ask Rohit over coffee before or after his talk.

About the artist:

Rohit Saha (born in 1990, India) is a visual artist from Calcutta. His practice involves photography, illustration, and animation to narrate stories. He has been working with communities, landscapes, and socio-political phenomena in various parts of India. Saha’s graduation project about extra-judicial killings in Manipur titled “1528” won the Alkazi Photobook Award in 2017. Saha was awarded the Magnum Foundation Social Justice Fellowship in 2018 and was a part of the Joop Swart Masterclass 2020. He is a member of the photo collective called Bad Eyes.
